ok so i put new/junk yard axle in the zj and im quite sure i got rid of the DW but me and my brothers jeep and my friend marc's jeep went wheelin today at flat rock in plainfield and i got no 4Lo right now cause i need to bend my novak shift lever, but when i was really putting a lot of torque on it to go over big rocks n stuff when in 4hi a few times i was hearing a searious bang in front end with all the torque on it.. anyone got any ideas??? i was jus thinking maybe to much torque on it with 4hi jus didnt like it. if anyones got any ideas lemme know thanks

kirksjeep:
Are the U-joints in good shape?  The most common cause for the banging is U-joints, but it could also be the unit bearings or the gears.  With the front end up on Jacks, can you turn the wheel and hear anything?

GreenGrandV8:
not sure im gonna check her out tomorrow. but didnt notice any play in the u-joints.

Flex:
maybe spider gears.

how hard would that ba to change?? i know how to do most anything on the jeeps but i dont no much about the hole differential deal.. i almost wanna kik the 373's to the kirb and get 410's but that would prob be a good amount of $$$$
