Bill3753:
Just realized no one answered your NV4500 question.  The answer is yes, it is a popular swap option but it is not a direct bolt in option.

You'll need a few adapters to make it work.  I know it can get expensive.  The best place to talk to is the guys at http://www.advanceadapters.com/.

They sell all the parts to make it a bolt it, but that is also where the expensive part comes in.  If your really thinking about it though I've read the Dodge NV4500 is the way to go as it has a 23 spline output shaft and a bolt pattern to mate up with your choice of Jeep type transfer cases.

Black-market:
Sweet thanks man ;D

You really need to do some research on this, I believe the transfer case will bolt to the Dakota tranny but it will be clocked lower. you have to drill out a couple of hole to clock the transfer cae up to a "normal" jeep position.
