Hey Jim,
I'm in over my head with house projects right now and haven't even had a chance to work on my Jeep in way too long, but there may be others here that could give you a hand. Have you come across Stu's page of Jeep repairs yet? Here is the link to ujoint replacement. I would suggest going to home on his page and bookmarking it. There are a lot of good write ups on his website.

I was going to suggest a similar method, balljoint press is definitely the way to go.  I spend 150 bucks on a press at harbor freight the first time I did mine.  It worked but it's super excessive.

Another new member!  Hey JT, my names Jacob.  I'm from New Britain and drive an XJ.  I work as a line cook in West Hartford and have slowly been getting into the 4wheel community.  I have a 4.5 inch BDS short arm lift and 33's. Most recently I installed the Detours Tailbone rear tire carrier (which is an amazing system).  4.0 I6, sye and cv driveshaft, stock 29 spline 8 1/4 rear, d30 front, and a bunch of stickers haha.  Look forward to participating and meeting up!

Hello everyone New to the club here. Lets see I am a Navy guy don't hold that against me LOL! Any way Live here in Groton, work on the Subase. found you guys on line and then ChiefKP ran into me at the gas station said I should join so here I am.Looking forward to meeting ya'll and hanging out. My Ride Hmmmmmm work in progress 2013 JK Sport (anything but! LOL)  its rugged brown and rarely has doors on it. It is definetly looking forward to getting out on some trails oh yeah guess i am to LOL. any way nice to meet everyone.
