Lift on the cheap

(1/3) > >>

B52BUFF:
I have available to me a little money for tires for my 06' TJ and may be able to con-vince my wife for a little extra cash.  As I have stated before, I am looking for a small lift to add a slightly larger tire.  I realize that the advise is to go for it early but funds are limited and I have to do this in steps.  That being said I am interested in going to a larger tire and therefore a lift kit.  That being said, any recommendations?  I was thinking a 2.5" and 33's

gearhead1985B:
2.5" is not enough to clear 33's without causing body damage at full flex with out  massive bump stops

what kits are you looking at?

calvynandhobbs:
With only 2.5" of lift you would be limited in your uptravel with 33s, but if you went with 2.5" suspension and a 1" body lift you'd be in pretty decent shape for 33s. I have 3.5" suspension with 1.25" body lift and have room for 35s as long as I extend my bumpstops.

Flex:
if funds are tight try to find a used lift in the grand scheme of things theres not that many parts in a lift. I plan on doing a lift on my friends jeep completely out of used lift parts, if u look hard enough u should be able to find everything need on different forums.

gearhead1985B:
or junk yard your lift here is 3" with a few zj parts a few ford parts and run it
