cad gone bad

today my jeep 4x4 indicator was coming on randomly so i think the cad on my jeep is going bad so i decided to replace it with a axle out me a cherokee is theres any thing else i need to put it in

It might be the vacuum switch on the T-case.  It also could be a short in the wires. The fork in the CAD acts as a ground for the elecrical switch.  The most comon failure is the miles of vacuum lines going from the engine to the T-case and then up to the front axle. 

Even better, swap out the shafts for some out of a 96+ XJ or TJ and do away with the CAD and get the bigger U-joints.

yes i am going to swap out the shafts and seal this saturday and i am getting a brake booster out of a 95 and some 33's :P

Ive done that swap before.  its easy, but may require seal modification to  make it work.  call me if you need a hand.

the housing was from an 84 4cyl and was going into an 89. no prob but motor trans and tcase were from a 94. no vaccum system.  bought a seal for a 94 pulled the carrier out and it turns out that the seal is larger then the boss where you would put the seal in.  the seal had a metal outer layer on it when cut off it became a perfect fit and w
