well i found these surfing the net and i want them but i am not paying those prices i like the removable flair idea cause i tend to rip off fender flairs  i think if i hacked up a stock yj fender and get rid of the arched portion they could be made pretty easily no tube bending all welding

i would hack off the fender at the blue line replace with tubing of sorts then the green lines would be the removable flair

then do something similar for the rear

Try it and let us know.

Your best bet would be to mock something up and then go to a place like Logan Steel, by some tube and then have them put a bend in it for a few $$$.  It would be much cheaper then buying a bender, and much stronger/easier then a series of welds.  Check out Rogers new Jeep, he has some modified fenders that are re-enforced with steel tube.  The key with the flairs is to mount them with zip ties.  Strong enough to hold them on for street use, but when you hit a tree/rock they will rip off with little to no damage to the steel.  Carry a few zip ties and you can pop them back on before you hit the street again.

Also do a search for a company called Jeep Tubes in WA.  They make some tube fender kits that just require welding.  Not a bad price, but shipping would be expensive.  They might give you some ideas though.

if i decide to make these the flair portion will just be for street use so i want a little of fender showing on the trail so i would hack the fender off at the hood line and make a bolt on flat fender looking thing all of this is just an idea i had floating in my head and it works there i have not skeched it out on paper to scale to see if it works i am going to wait untill i get the new axles in first then this will be my next project they look awesome in my head i will see what they look like on paper first before i do any thing unless i find som free YJ fenders i can hack up

rocket:
when you say "flair" do you mean like in office space?  Because i would rather have fender flares; flair won't keep the cops happy
