Full width axles? I've seen a few of these set up with full width axles and they are pretty sweet looking, and very stout.

Sounds like a trialered rig. Full width axles will make it a trailer rig, so 44's would make it easier to get it on and off the trailer without ramps.

meant dana 44, but i guess 44" tires would be alright also.
