They're not to hard to replace, if you have a nice warm garage i'll come by.

They are pretty easy. If you've never changed them hit the 3 bolts on the backside with some PB blaster or something for the next couple days. I have tools I can bring with me if you don't have a 12 point 13mm socket. A 6 point will not fit.

technically it's a 1/2" but 13 mm works also .

don't forget the 36mm axle socket also.

It's truly a 13mm, but a 1/2" can be substituted. I have not found a single standard size bolt on my XJ anywhere. Even the big suspension bolts for the control arms are 19mm heads. Every write up I've seen says 12 point 13mm, but a 12 point 1/2 can be substituted. Yes, you are right though in that he'll need the 36mm hub socket also.
Here's a quick write up somebody did.

I have the 36mm socket. I should be home this evening. I can go over the job with you, and explain how to do it. It's very easy, with the exception of removing the bolts.

I think i have all the tools i need, i had to get a 36 MM socket for something I did, don't remember what. If the wind dies down tomorrow I am going to try and do it then. Thanks for all the help.

Here ya go, Drew. This is a pretty good write up on how to remove the unit bearing with some pics.
