I never had a problem with that because I always wanted to be outside anyway. Even in the winter I would shovel the snow off the cement slab behind the house so I could play basketball. I would just rotate basketballs from inside to outside as they went flat from the cold. I never really liked watching tv as a kid and couldn't stand video games.

We were only allowed 1/2 hour of tv per day.  And if you wanted to watch an hour program then you had to stock up hours.  god forbid you wanted to watch a movie.  Video games??  Never even had a console until I was 18 and bought on myself.  But we were always outside.   I think mom had a crack habbit....

Only watched in the evening as a family after dinner. We had an intellivision game system (was proably bought when i was born or before).  We finally got a nintendo when super nintendo was old.  I didn't even own a TV untill after I got married.  Now I have one, but don't have cable or satalite, and no rabbit ears!

I remember the Intellivision game system. My parents got one of those as a family Christmas gift when I was probably 5-7 years old. I never even held a controller. I had no desire to waste my time playing video games. My parents were disappointed that I wouldn't play, but happy that I'd rather go outside and do stuff.
