Depending on what gear ratio you are looking for, you can get them as cheap as $150 but w/o brakes or calipers . Try
www.car-parts.com
to do a search for axles in the area. When you call make sure it is the price from disc to disc with calipers. I found a few places selling complete axles for around $200, but open diff and 3.73 gears. I found mine on craigslist up in Hartford w/ 4.10 gears and a limited slip for $225.

If it's already got some upgrades added to it, like already set up for a TJ or YJ, then yeah. Otherwise, $150 to $250 should be a reasonable price. I paid $250 for mine.
